Remembrance Sunday Parade

Date: 14th Nov 2021 Author: Simon Burney

The parade and church service returned after last years suspension with a fantastic turnout from the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Guides, all looking really smart in their parade uniforms.

The group marched with the Claines British Legion and band from the scout hut in Cornmeadow Lane up to Claines Church and laid poppy wreaths at the remembrance stone before attending a service lead by Jo Musson, vicar of Claines.

As a result of covid precautions the young people watched the service in the Claines Institute opposite the church, beamed live to a large screen. Everyone did get a comfy seat and an excellent view as a result this year.

Scouts and Guides gave readings and lead prayers and the various sections presented their section flags during the service in the church. The scout hut was also decorated with a fantastic display of poppies made by all the groups young people and organised by Claines Guides.

You made us all very proud
