About us

We are a thriving Worcester Scout Group with six sections for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 as either Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. Around 120 young people attend our different sections each week.

Welcome to the Claines Scout Group (8th Worcester)

Founded back in 1913, just 5 years after the very first Scouts, we balance traditional scouting with modern activities giving our young people exciting everyday adventures that build skills for life.

We have extensive facilities and our location next to the playing field on Cornmeadow Lane has lots of outdoor space. Indoor activities take place in our hall but we also have an outdoor fire area, an equipment store and a wooden ex-military hut which has been converted into a smart new den for older 14+ Explorer Scouts. We also get out and about in the great outdoors too of course.

Volunteering in Worcester: We are always keen for more parents and adults to help us directly our sections or behind the scenes. You don’t need prior experience and you really can give as much or as little of your time as you like. It can be one of the most fun, rewarding and positive things you will ever do and we promise you will make our young people smile. We are a sociable friendly bunch too.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
