Aztec Scouts Summer Camp Week

Date: 16th Aug 2021 Author: Simon Burney

Normality resumed as 13 Aztec Scouts, 2 Young leaders and 3 Leaders enjoyed a full 5 night camp at the Rhydd Covert Scout campsite in July. Covid testing meant we could set up a bubble and run lots of fun activities for the Scouts plus even have a full day out at the West Midlands Safari Park next door.

Our Scouts skills returned with lots opportunities for patrol cooking and campfires and we were able to cover core skills too like pioneering, hike route planning and using axes, saws and wedges to cut and split wood. We had lots of fun with a huge water fight, grass sledging, go karting , lots of football plus archery too.

The Scouts really enjoyed getting out and about in the great outdoors once again.
