Scouts at the Claines Coronation Party

Date: 8th May 2023 Author: Simon Burney

Claines Scout Group, Claines Guides, Claines Church, and Claines British Legion hosted a fantastic Coronation Celebration on Sun 7th May on the Rec on Cornmeadow Lane.

Sunny weather brought out lots of families and around 300 people attended. The Scouts ran free games and activities for local children and adults also enjoyed a Jazz band and bar run by the legion. The event was supported with a grant from the council.

The Scouts also ran a Popcorn Factory and Stands, a Tuck Shop, a Raffle stand, and the refreshments for all in the Scout hall.

All children attending received a commemorative “gold” coronation badge.

Well done to everyone from our group that attended to show our fantastic Scouting life skills to the local community.
